I am a clinical psychotherapist, LCSW, in private practice in Berkeley and Albany, California. In 2016 I moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I had been a mental health provider for over 30 years. Along with a general practice, I specialize in the treatment of trauma. I first trained in EMDR in 1997, and am a certified EMDR therapist. I also incorporate the models of Focusing, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and have completed the Level 2 SP training. Another area of specialty is treating anxiety and other mood disorders. I utilize mindfulness, and insights from wisdom traditions, as well as CBT and dialectical behavioral therapy.
In Ann Arbor I was a community mental health provider for the University of Michigan and regularly met with students, staff and faculty. I have also worked extensively with couples and family therapy, and trained in multicultural sensitivity, working with all ethnic and cultural populations. My initial training in working with families, children, and adolescents has continued to be an important focus as I work with increasingly diverse family groups. Through this rich professional experience I will offer the sensitivity and skills to move you through your own growth and healing.
